To promote growth and togetherness in a multicultural community where everyone can
celebrate and enjoy the holiday season with friends and family.
Vision
Alexandria is a strong community and has been for over 125 years. We have grown
into a multicultural community. Our vision is to embrace this by inviting friends
and families to discover the heart of Alexandria and maintain the strength that
has been alive for over a century.
The Festival of Lights is a volunteer driven event. The committee consists of local
vendors, parents, and friends across all avenues of experience. They dedicate countless
hours to the preparation and evolution of the event year round. We began the festival
of lights in 2006. It has become extremely successful.
Our vision has been made possible with the generous monetary donations and help
of local business owners, service clubs, schools, and most importantly the individuals
that live in our community. We are a not-for-profit organization, thus, the Festival
survives off of free will donations. All donations go towards the addition and maintenance
of lights and events such as, the New Years Eve fireworks, the ever-popular family
fun scavenger hunt, the visit with Santa day, and more!
